Three internationally acclaimed musicians – David Griffiths (clarinet), Svetlana Bogosavljevic (cello) and Timothy Young (piano) formed Ensemble Liaison in 2006 with an outstanding debut concert for ABC Classic FM which featured in “The best of Sunday Live 2006”
And so, Ensemble Liaison and Friends evolved into a collective vision for a permanent ensemble combining the beauty of clarinet, cello and piano with the flexibility to collaborate with friends to explore a wider aural palette.
In 2007 they presented the inaugural Ensemble Liaison and Friends Concert Series from Melbourne’s spectacular BMW Edge, at Federation Square. The three concert series, which received critical acclaim, featured collaborations with several guest artists including Wilma Smith, Elizabeth Sellars and Caroline Henbest.
Due to popular demand, the BMW Edge series was expanded to four concerts for the 2008 season including guest artists, Miki Tsunoda (Duo Sol), Alex Henery (Principal Double Bass of the Sydney Symphony) along with returning friends, Wilma Smith and Elizabeth Sellars. They have also been invited to perform in Batemans Bay for the South Coast Chamber Music Society (NSW) and the 2008 Monash University Music in the Round.
